a drop of golden sun

On an unseasonably warm Autumn day, I had the immense pleasure of meeting and photographing Rae Connell, a fellow film photographer and wildly talented gem of a human.

Rae is bright + free spirited + introspective + down to earth. She shoots weddings beautifully and intentionally, using a mix of digital and film and I am always yearning to see more of her gorgeous work.

Getting to learn why this place meant so much to Rae and getting to witness a deeper part of her amongst nature was truly powerful and something that’ll always stay with me.

Months later, I am still invigorated by this session. Creating with other artists ranks high as one of my favourite things in the world. There is this added burst of palpable energy that leads to a mingling many describe as a dance.

In case you are wondering, we all have that in us - that inner creative - capable of making something artful. I think when we get out of our heads, and into our body… when we root in presence, we lean into the beauty of the moment and that is where the magic is at.

If you feel called to be photographed within nature, let’s tap into our innate wild and make some art. Tell me your dreams. Let’s embrace the elements and play together.
